Nikola Chassis Controls
Contributed to the development of Class 8 Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEV) at Nikola, encompassing several key areas:
- Defined system architecture and software requirements for a greenfield BLE TPMS, Electric Park Brake Interlock and Air E-Compressor.
- Developed a modular Simulink framework for Chassis Controls with multi-rate subsystems and a scheduler for a pilot concept.
- Led the integration and release of the Crash Management System, and Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), resolving communication bugs and optimizing RF antenna placement for reliable performance.
- Developed and validated system level testing procedures
- Introduced a new low-voltage pyrofuse on the truck for High Voltage and Hydrogen post-Crash Safety, driving changes across electrical and mechanical domains, and reducing BOM costs significantly.
- Developed safety case documentation for multiple features
